The Philippine population is made of Malay, Chinese, Spanish, Arab and American blood (damn...No Welsh? hehehe). More than 90% of all Filipinos descended from the Malays.  We are really a mixed culture.  I don't even know how much of me is Chinese or Spanish... lol.  All I know is that my grandfather from my mother's side is pure Chinese and my grandmother is Tagalog and with a little Spanish blood in her so... will that make my mom half Chinese?  And my dad is Tagalog and partly Spanish from the Lopez Clan ( Note: I am not in any way related to Jennifer Lopez... lmao ), so how much of me is Chinese? or Spanish?  Figure it out please... lol.

This is the traditional formal clothing of Filipinos but of course we seldom wear it now.  It is called "Barong Tagalog" for men and they still wear it on formal occasions like weddings but mostly wear coat and tie nowadays.  For women, it is called "Patadyong" but Filipino women don't wear it now (only if you are an artist like a dancer and you are doing a cultural show.)  The horse driven carriage is called "Calesa",  a traditional vehicle in the old times, another one we inherited from the Spaniards.   Now, the most common public transport vehicle is the "jeep", though we have lots of buses and taxis too but riding in a jeep is much cheaper.
